(15) x 1880 Cheddar or Butterscotch Antique Lily Quilt Pattern Quilt Blocks – 12″ x 12″ – Hand Pieced!
This is a lovely set of (15) x 1880’s LILY QUILT PATTERN, DES MOINES or THE CORNER STAR quilt pattern – (#2058a – 2059 BB) hand pieced antique quilt blocks.
I purchased this set of blocks during 2001 from Greenville, South Carolina: USA.
This is a gently used set of quilt blocks taken from a quilt top as you can see around the edge where they had been joined together with machine stitching at one point.
These are large quilt blocks measuring approximately 12” x 12” with some even larger again.
The maker used two different butterscotch or cheddar fabrics very typical of that era.
The seams are tight and the fabrics still strong….in a couple of places you can see where the cheddar has fade spots perhaps from getting wet?
There are also a few age stains noted to the cream calico and blood spots visible on one patch. No odours noted.
You may elect to either finish a project that was started over 100 years ago or take these blocks apart and use the fabric within one of your own restoration projects.
If you have any questions re these blocks then please message me before bidding and I will do my be best to answer them.
