Description

19thc PRIMITIVE COUNTRY CHARM CRAZY PIECED ANTIQUE VINTAGE QUILT – MASCULINE!

This is a wonderful handmade quilt with loads of primitive country charm constructed on a foundation cloth in a CRAZY QUILT pattern & was then hand quilted over a lovely cadet blue backing.
The quilt measures 72″ x 72” and was purchased in 2002 from Memphis: USA.

The red, white & blue country colour scheme dominates this quilt…..the maker has used a wide variety of vintage colors and prints indicative of the era……mainly indigo & cadet blues, reds, double pinks, burgandys, blacks and various plaids.
The maker used a soft cotton batting between the layers and backed the quilt with a gorgeous faded cadet blue that is pieced out of 3 narrow sections……with a simple grid of utility quilting stitches over the entire quilt.
This is a medium weight soft & cuddly quilt with wonderful drape!

There are not too many condition issues for such a well loved and used quilt…..an easy restoration project which will see this ol’ gal back in use for many more years to come!
The fabrics need replacing in approx. 5% of the quilt where the foundation fabric is now on show…..there’s also a very small hole on the back and a few minor stains here and there.
A critter has chewed a hole on the edge of the quilt…. this would need to be repaired too – (see picture).
There are no odours.

If you have any questions re this quilt then please message me before bidding & I will do my be best to answer them.
Remember this item is around 120 years old & isn’t in perfect condition….please see all photos as I try & note any damage to avoid disappointments.

It comes from a non-smoking household with no pets inside.
