(28) x 1860-80’s Civil War Era Nine Patch Quilt Blocks – Marvelous Madders!
Gorgeous set of 1860-80’s madder NINE PATCH quilt blocks made during the Civil War era.
I purchased this set of blocks during 2000 from New Jersey: USA.
28 x handpieced and gently used antique Nine Patch quilt blocks….each measuring 5” x 5”.
Rich palette of madder and chocolate brown contrast sharply with white shirtings indicative of the Civil war era.
Please note the age stains which is part of the natural aging process….there’s also a degree of yellowing and a few fabrics will need replacing where the corners have worn. No obvious odours noted.
To me the true value of these blocks are the fabrics themselves….this set of blocks represent a veritable treasure trove of civil war madders….perfect for study or reproduction!
You could frame & display these blocks as-is or you may prefer to make more blocks to compliment these and finish a project that was started well over 100 years ago.
