19th CENTURY GRAPHIC BARNRAISING LOG CABIN ANTIQUE VINTAGE QUILT – VERY GOOD CONDITION!
A charming graphic BARNRAISING LOG CABIN quilt #2573 BB that would look perfect displayed in either a country-style or modern home.
I purchased this quilt during 2000 from New Jersey: USA and it measures a generous 88” x 88”.
There are 64 x 11” x 11” Log Cabin blocks have been machine pieced from a lovely variety of Lancaster blue, chrome yellow, double pink, turkey red and neon prints off set against an array of different shirting fabrics!
These blocks have then been arranged in the classic barnraising pattern in 8 x 8 rows.
A very thin whisper of cotton batting was used, the backing fabric is a softly coloured plaid in buff, baby blue and pale pink….the maker then elected to handquilt her quilt in a simple grid, 6sti.
This quilt is in very good condition for age….there are a few logs that need replacing and it does require a new binding all round: (see pics).
The fabrics are strong, seams on the whole are tight and the backing fabric is in very good condition.
This quilt needs a bath once restored as there is minimal surface grime evident if you look closely enough. No odours evident.
There are many more years of gentle use still within this lovely old quilt: place it on a bed, hang on display or place folded in a quilt stack….perfect!
If you have any questions re this quilt then please message me and I will do my best to answer them.
