#17 – Lollipop Swirl – OPA Sampler SAL 2023 – is a PDF Pattern
Block number seventeen – Lollipop Swirl is the next mystery block of our OPA Sampler SAL 2023.
BB’s Blockbase identifies this pattern as #3536 Whirlwind…..however it really reminds me of a lollipop or beach ball so ‘Lollipop Swirl’ it is!
My inspiration for this block came via a really sweet antique quilt top in my collection….you may already recognise this block.
I drafted Lollipop Swirl two years ago sharing the free PDF pattern on my website: Lollipop Swirl Quilt Pattern
I’ve now adapted that pattern to measure the same size as the rest of our blocks including some additional pages and piecing options etc.

You can choose to piece your #17 Lollipop Swirl block by hand or machine.
I’ve drafted a simpler FPP option utilising straight lines for those that would prefer to foundation piece their block centre.
My block was hand pieced using original vintage fabrics from the stash.
I included a piece of that gorgeous Lancaster blue striped fabric that was originally the backing of our sampler quilt.
This pattern contains:

• Templates ready to trace for hand piecing
• Piecing Diagrams to assemble your block.

There are #49 blocks in total…….with each block finishing at 11 inches square.
Now that the SAL has ended each block is now priced at $5.00.
However should you wish to purchase the complete set of #49 x patterns it works out to approx $1.00 each.
#17 – Lollipop Swirl – OPA Sampler SAL 2023 is a PDF pattern available as a digital download.
Simply ‘add to cart’, enter your details, click ‘proceed to checkout’ and then click ‘place order’.
After that your green download link will appear.
You will subsequently receive an email with the download link should you happen to miss that step.
Important:
To ensure accurate sizing of your blocks you first need to save the file onto your computer.
Open that file using Adobe Reader and turn off scaling: ie select ‘Print at 100%’ or ‘Actual Size’.

Once you have printed your pattern be sure to measure the one inch grid which found at the bottom left hand side of the page.
Remember, printing directly from a link usually alters the formatting and size of your pattern!
I’ve also added a 6″ grid PDF in the shop so that you can check your printer scaling which will show up any printer anomalies before you start.
