(33) x 1880-1910 Old Maids Puzzle or Double X Pattern Quilt Blocks – 7″ x 7″ – Plus Additional 9 FREE Blocks!
This is a charming set of 1880-1910 OLD MAIDS PUZZLE, DOUBLE X or JACKS ON SIX antique quilt blocks – BB #1689a.
I purchased this set of blocks as part of an incomplete partial quilt top project during 2001 from Springfield Missouri: USA.
This set of 33 x neatly hand pieced quilt blocks measure approximately 7” x 7”.
The maker used 2 different double pink fabrics set against a dark contrasting background using various black prints – featuring charming florals and sweet dots etc.
The seams are neat and tight with the fabrics still in very good and strong condition….there are a few minor age stains with no odours noted.
Please note there are 9 additional blocks that appear to have been constructed much later to perhaps finish this project.
When I purchased these blocks someone had started to join them together using a brown floral setting block which imo didn’t really suit the block so I took them apart and am now offering the setting blocks as a separate sale.

This item comes from a non-smoking household with no pets coming into contact with the quilts.
