Description
Sweetest PA 1880 – 1940 One Patch Dolls Quilt: 18” x 22”
This sweet One Patch dolls quilt was hand pieced from original fabrics very typical of the 1880’s era…..it appears as though an 1880’s quilt top was then backed around 1940 and finished into this little quilt.
I purchased this item during 2002 from a seller that in turn sourced it direct from an estate sale in Pennsylvania.
The quilt measures 18” x 22” and the patches themselves are 1.5” square.…..soooooo perfect for a dolly quilt!
The condition is excellent, the quilt is crisp, never used or washed.
I always intended to take this sweet ol’ gal apart (it is minimally tacked together in 8 spots) and substitute a flannel batting and appropriate antique backing fabric……wouldn’t this look so charming if it were hand quilted!?
See this listing 19th Century Red & White Fabric 24.5″ wide for a backing option. I will also be adding more yardage in the coming weeks.
There are no holes, fading or odours noted…….there is just one split to the madder stripe fabric as pictured……I will add in an era appropriate scrap for replacement.
If you have any questions re this item then please message me before bidding & I will do my be best to answer them.
Remember this quilt top is 100 years old so won’t be in perfect condition….please see all photos & read my description to avoid any disappointment.
This item comes from a non-smoking household with no pets coming into contact with the quilts and fabric.
I am very happy to combine shipping to save you on postage.
I will take returns for any reason so please message me if you have any issues or problems with your order.
